THIS Monday, February 26th at 6PM at the Department of Excise and License, 201 West Colfax Ave, Dept. 206 on the corner of 14th and Colfax we are having our hearing for our Cabaret license.

At this hearing we must present evidence demonstrating neighborhood wants and needs. The neighborhood groups (CHUN, Unsinkables, and other officials), who presume to speak for you, are opposing our application, though they have accepted many in recent months for other applicants.

If you live within the boundaries of 18th Ave., Ogden St., 8th Ave., and Broadway we would appreciate your support! Anyone that is a manager of a business within these boundaries, a resident, or a land owner is a valid witness, so please bring building managers, friends, or roommates that would like to support us as well!

You must have an ID that shows that you live within those borders, and if you have not signed our petition, please stop by the Cafe before Monday and do so!

Your support need only be by being present, and a showing of hands, but if you would like to speak directly to the assembly, please contact me, as there will need to be a short briefing with our lawyer before hand (this can be done by phone) on Monday afternoon.

If you plan on showing up, please be early, or on time. And you are more than welcome to come as you are. No need to NOT be yourself and an accepted member of this community. Though I would appreciate it if everyone was well behaved, to allow us to continue to prove that we are one of the greatest collections of individuals. An oxymoron, I know.

The hearing will take place on the second floor, in the offices of Excise and Licensing. I have attached a map of the surrounding are of the Webb Building, where the hearings are to be held. If you need a ride there - I will arrange one for you!

At the very least - you'll get to see me roasted by the neighborhood groups. That should count for something.

Friday (July 28th) night is Whip It! at Rock Island - I will be DJ ing along with Mike Rich (who used to do Sunday nights at GZ) and it should be a blast. Fetish theme - good time. If you want to go - I may be able to swing tickets - or pay your way if you are financially challenged. :) This event starts at 9pm. Cover is $6.

Saturday (July 29th) - BBQ at the Cafe. I will be making my (in)famous Gumbo, and other providing other foodstuffs for a relaxed get together at Netherworld. There is no smoking in the cafe (there is on the patio) so we are almost kid friendly. Of course as I have no kids - I couldn't promise. :) This event will start at noon. If I get up that early. :)

Saturday night - 2101 - The Wave - more clubbing (yeah- I still do alot of this... :) Tina's birthday - and I will be guest DJing there as well. Lots of surprises, and a nice venue if you've not been there. Free before 9:30pm, $5.00 after.

Sunday (July 30th) - Renaissance festival - We are arranging a trip to the Colorado Ren Fair. If you've never been - you are missing out - if you work there - well you probably hate it - but will be in good spirits because it is the LAST DAY! Wait - I lied - I just found out they extended it. Dang! Well I still want to go if people are up for it - or maybe we can plan something else? Anyone? If we do want to do this - I can probably arrange rides, etc. Costumes encouraged, but certainly not necessary. Admission: $16.95(adults) - $8.00(children ages 5-12) FREE Admission to children under 5

Sunday night - Rock Island. We will be playing GZ era music (and a bit of newer fare. Mike Rich, Myself, Xian Dragos, and hopefully Reverend Pete. I am still badgering him. :) This event starts at 9pm. 21+ free before 10, $3 after.

Well alot of us still live here, but I hear Leanne Johnston (used to be Brown) and her husband Rich are around, as well as Kristi Dopp (usd to be Bloedow) and her husband Ed - and new addition Sophia Marie! They are here NOW so anyone wanting to track her down - let me know!

Lauren Crawford should be around.. somewhere... she is moving back to Denver.
